Prevention is indeed the best medicine for this infection. Practicing good teeth brushing and not eating foods that are rich in yeast will greatly decrease your chance of developing this infection.
Developing an oral yeast infection may be a bit troublesome, but with proper treatment and good hygiene this affliction can be easily controlled.
